I was peeved to see the SB go when HS introduced the Treo line and then when PalmOne would further continue NOT bothering with the SB on their on devices, but when i switched to my z71 years ago. I've grown to like SD better. They're so small, i can fit 6 of them in my wallet w/o a problem. SB modules required a small bag or tote, which wouldn't have been practical for 'travelling light'.
Even tho i've never seen any flash mem modules >16MB, I'm sure they would'v gotten to HUGE capacities if it cought on better. The SoundsGood mp3 player ha 64MB right there, and it stands to reason that if small sized SD cards can reach 1GB.... 2GB sooner or later, SB could excel that easily. The one advantage that SB had over SD... and this was advertised by HS back when they were competitors with P1 and Sony was SDIO was mostly for software extras and few hardware features. SB had ALOT of hardware uses:
GPS
digicam
Voice recorder
cell phone
modem
mAssAger (NOT messenger)
mp3 player
vibrator (for alarms )
card readers (CF, SD, MMC and ithink even MS?)
