Handspring dude vs. Cingular man

Anybody notice any similarities between the orange guy in the cingular wireless ads and the VC/Handspring dude? I see a lawsuit coming. . .

I think flip rocks!!!!!!!
i have a flip from Handspring on my screen. He crawls down it. Got it from a HS spokesdude. I play with it more than my cat.

I look at all these logos and can't help but think "I'm Gumby Damnit!"

When I read the title, I thought this was going to be one of those "who could kick who's ass" kind of debates - like, who would you bet on in a fight, RoboCop or the Terminator? Spiderman v. Batman?

I personally give Handspring's Flip the clear edge in this deathmatch. He's obviously nimble, and probably has some crazy matrix-like kick moves. The Cingular guy is kind of blob-like, slow, not very aggressive - although I wouldn't be surprised if he can absorb a lot of punishment.

I also would think flip would win

flip would pull out the Raycom Personal Massager springboard and massage the cingular guy to death or sleep. Then flip would use the jetlog napping module to make him go crazy by never sleeping again....

There's a comic book on RoboCop vs. Terminator. RoboCop won.
Batman cheats, and fights dirty, so he'd win v. Spidey (IMHO).
Cingular's mascot doesn't make any sense. "X" isn't in the name, and why is he orange?

(further, after reading the threads Mark referenced)
on my bookshelf is "Bullet-Proof Logos" by David E. Carter. It's a design book concerned with building a logo (and thereby a corporate visual identity) which can't be confused with another company's or be subject to copyright infringment/likelihood of confusion suits. The book suggests that a good logo must be able to identify and distinguish -- meaning, you don't want your ID to be confused with some other company by the public-at-large.
All these swishes and swirlies -- aside form making me want to visit the men's room, for some reason -- would seem to defy both of those ideas.

and, for some reason, the cingular guy appears to be in the process of being drawn-and-quartered ... ow!

I think Robocop would win too, he's got heart.
Batman has nothing but a utility belt and Robin, I think Spider Man.
Of course, we've also had the Wolverine vs. Spider Man argument, I think Wolverine, my associate thinks otherwise.

I'd tend to bet on Robocop too, but I think it would be close.

I'd tend to bet on Batman as well - Spidey's a lot stronger, but lacks sufficient ruthlessness to finish the guy off.

I'm pretty sure Wolverine would also take him out. My guess is they've tangled in a Marvel comic at some point, but my days of actually reading comic books are like 20 years in my past.

Someone reminded me the other day of the "Wolverine/Spider-Man" comic in the mid-1980's where they had a big fight in a graveyard and while Spider-Man beat the tar outta Wolverine, the big W did manage to tell Spidey something to the effect of "I know you won't be able to kill me, you don't have it in you, but I do, and will." (there's this whole nasty fist-under-opponent's-jaw thing he does.)
