Angry

I ordered WriteRight's from buy.com, when I received them they were all defective! They had a frost like pattern in the shape of a giant "F". Every single one of them has the same pattern. I called ConceptKitchen and they said that they had a bad batch go out and they did not catch it untill it was already in stores. They are willing to replace them but they are sending me an envelope to mail mine to them and then they will ship new ones to me. How long will this take? Beats me, you figure mail time from them to me (envelope), then me to them (defective writerights), then them back to me (good writerights), it could be a month before I get replacements!

If you are buying them locally where you can open the box before you leave the store it might be a good idea. If you are buying them over the internet like me, well, I guess you take your chances.

I recently bought some from Best Buy, and they all have a narrow "frost" pattern running horizontally about 1/5 of the way down from the top. I've also heard other people complain about this. The WriteRights come in a cardboard folder with a pocket inside. The WriteRights are stuffed tightly into the pocket with roughly 1/5 of their length poking out the top. The screen protectors seem to flex around the point where they stick up out of the pocket, and this apparently causes the frosting. Looks very ugly, I agree. Right now I'm putting up with it, but I will probably not purchase WriteRights again unless they change their packaging.

Thumbs down

I had a very similar problem. I bought some at Best Buy, and when I got home and opened them up, I discovered that they all had this big "frosted" looking band across the top of them. I promptly went back to Best Buy and exchanged them for another pack.

Arrow

I had the same problem but ConceptKitcken just mailed me new wrightrites and there was a return envelope inside with the new wrightrites. It took about 5 days to get them.
The way I see it is for that kind of money for thin plastic and conceptkitchen's poor packaging, I refuse to wait, and they had no problem with this.
Call them back and let them know how you feel.

I purchased (WinCE) WriteWrites from http:\\www.inyourpalm.com for $9.99 on sale. They were fine, and came in the CD case type packaging.

BTW, the WinCE style fits fine. It does leave a very small gap around the outside, but without it I can't imagine how you could remove it.

PDAENVY,

Did you mean to say the WriteRights were $19.99?

Nope, PDAENVY meant to say $9.99. I ordered two sets from inyourpalm for that price. It was a deal too good to pass up.

The CE write-rights came in DVD cases (slightly odd, but, heck, spare cases always come in handy). They're all clear and work great.

What's interesting is that the two covers on the cases were different. One mentioned CE's only, while the second listed other machines, also.

Same problem out of the box here, but they sent me a replacement package + 2 extras and 2 Karma cloths for the trouble. That is great customer service!

Received good writerights today in mail, plus two "Karma Cloth". This does make me happier. Now lets see if I can get used to using them, I think they kind of "dull" the screen. Oh well what do you expect for 26 cents + shipping.

20.26 writerights
-20.00 new customer coupon (buy.com)
-------------
.26
+ 5.07 shipping & handling
=========

Wink

Blaster is right, that is where I got the coupon. I do not know if they have the $20 coupon anymore or not.

Good Luck!
