Are you Happy with your case?

Hi All I am wondering if i am the only one feed up with not finding a case that meets my needs...

i have even resorted to designing my own. I got my Grandpa to help he has like a billion years of experience in working with metal and plastics.

Am i wrong or are most people happy with there cases?

If you are happy...please share what you have found..

If not what features to you want/need in a case??

Well, I was personally a fan of the Edge Sleek Aluminum case, until I had to slide it up every time I wanted to use it in the Hoy Sync cradle, which, was....always...

So I cut off the bottom inch (up to the line of 'dots', just above the reset hole). Now I don't have to remove the case at all, and I absolutely *love* it. Best decision I made was to take a chance and get the dremel out.

Now, if I can modify my www.dsi-usa.com (pocket armor) case the same way for my 760C, I'll be in heaven!

I am currently using the Handspring 'Gray/Orange Mesh Modulecase' with my Prism.

I want a case that is slender enough to be pocketable, with a pocket for a slim module or other stuff, offering some decent security to the unit.

The Modulecase is not too bad, but it is very tight, does not protect a side, and I have to actually 'use' it outside the case. The E&B Slipper is not too bad either, but I just never really liked it on my Deluxe, and I cannot really say why. The Rhinoskin 1100 is also pretty close.

What frustrates me is that I see cases all the time that could work, but which are designed for other purposes and would require (shudder) Velcro to work here. Levingers.com, for example, has some great thin-line cases sold as wallets or so forth that I would love to try out as a case for the Prism!

I'm generally happy with my Vaja case for my VDX. I know people think the case is the best thing since PDAs, but I DO have a few niggles with it:
1. The Plastic, protecting condom shield over the buttons. I want my buttons free and clear.
2. The cut of the case doesn't quite fit my VDX. The top and left side both overlap the screen by about 2mm. I've had this problem with 2 of 3 cases I've owned.

I got my Kensington PDA Protector Friday and put it through it's first full day of school today. It has been excellent so far. It is made of aluminum and has a smooth/grippy finish to it. I know that sounds like a condradiction, but it is true. I can beam without taking my Visor out of my case. The Visor is not held in by velcro or straps, but just a tight fit and felt that forms around the ridges that are molded into both sides of the Visor next to the screen. There is no chance that it will fall out. When the case is open and set on a table it props the Visor up at an angle. This allows me to have it double as a stand for when I'm using my Halfkeyboard. The case closes with a magnetic closure so there is no buttons or snaps or loops or latches or anything, it is easy to open and close, but never opens on it's own. The case also looks very cool, it is aluminum and graphite colored, and everyone who sees me flip it open and shut makes a comment on how nice it is. These are juniors in high school, and we all know how picky we are when it comes to how things we have look. I highly recommend this case if you want a hard case, I got it for a little over 36 bucks after shipping at the kensington online store (www.kensington.com).

like my new case

I wrote you before, when you were looking for a case for you Visor and I said that I had been looking too. (For a good case) and I stumbled across a site called:
www.conceptualinnovations.com that has leather cases that apparently were able to hotsync in the case. Well to make a long story shorter (sorry) I ended up buying one of the cases from the site. The ci1b single fold case. I was pleasently surprised when I received it yesterday. Surprisingly, you are able to hotsync your Visor while it remains in the case. The leather is actually very nice also. I wasn't expecting alot at first. Usually most cases that I have looked into promise more than they can deliver, however, this case (ci1b) for now seems to be living up to it's promises.

Also I just noticed that Visorcentral mentions it on their new mailbag article tonight.

I currently have the now-discontinued Platinum with a Visorphone module. For a case, I have a modified belt-clip holster from Handspring. Though discontinued (assumed since I can't find it on the HS website), this holster-like case is ideal for me: quick-draw of the handheld, relatively unobtrusive and low-cost. On the downside, there've been many who've experienced premature breakage of either the holster itself or the actual tab that slips into the belt-clip. Furthermore, many say, and I would agree, that the holster tends to mar the handheld's finish. Despite these shortcomings, however, I've been happy with the overall performance. Yes, there're others, e.g. E&B Cases and Vaja, but none really impress me.

The modification I've made to the case involves two things: moving the tab closer to the center of gravity of the holster, and strengthening the tab itself by using a 4-40 pan-head screw. The screw physically bolts the holster to the tab. Furthermore, I used 24-hour curing epoxy to make sure that holster and tab become one. So far, this modification works better than the original.

Why do they all put the CC slot over the Screen?

What I find irritating about all the cases I have seen is that mmost of them seem to think that I want to store my Credit Cards facing the Visor's screen.

If they laid as flat as the unused case then that'd be alright but once I get my stuff in I'm afraid they will scratch the Visor screen. Yes I could put the plastic cover over it...but that sort of defeats the purpose of haveing case in the first place!

I have yet to see a ladies purse type thing that includes space for a handheld. That's what I'm after. Similar to my "Organizer" purse with a pocket on the outside for my sunglasses. Room for a cell phone, sunglasses, Visor and a few other items.

I bought the Sumdex Palm/Pocket PC Organizer but it is so small that there is hardly any room for anything but the Visor. the advertized sunglasses pocket is too small (flat) for any of my sunglasses to fit comfortably and I still haven't figured out how they expect anyone to get anything into the so-called side pockets.

I love my Rhinoskin 2000, especially because I got it for $10 from Amazon a while back. The only problem I have is that it is simply HUGE! Its great for carrying around every acessory that I have, but when I want small I just put the memplug in and put on the plastic cover.

Why not the Handspring Slim-Leather?

I use the Handspring Slim-Leather Case...it fits my needs quite nicely, because I can snap it in when not using my Deluxe with my stowaway, and when the front is folded over, it provides a nice, sturdier grip to the handheld than what you have with the Visor alone... for the 20-25 bucks it costs and its availability everywhere, it's a nice case.
One thing I do want is a case for my Stowaway, alone, without a pda holder. I'm afraid my Stowaway will get beat up in my bookbag without a case for it, and the only cases I have seen include the extra pocket for the pda

rubber case

I found a sturdy yet colorful rubber case at

The nice thing is it will fit my visor deluxe + visorphone and let me access all the visor functions, including hotsync without having to remove it before.

Targus w/ Stowaway

I'm using the handheld/stowaway combination at the moment. I was very irritated to see it had (gasp) velcro as the fastening mechanism, but decided it was worth having something compact to throw into my bag when I'm off to class. I just put the velcro on the visor's hard case instead of the back of the device. That way, it clips in backward and I don't have to worry about the screen being towards the outside. I just take the device right out of the clip to use it. If my keyboard would have come with a neoprene case I would have used it, but I ordered mine from Targus. Must be only Palm includes a case now. I think the "clip in clip out" approach is starting to wear down the plastic though, it doesn't snap in anymore. I think my next PDA's gonna have to be metal...

I fall in and out of love with cases quickly, but the one I am using right this second is pretty sweet.

It is the Innogear case that comes with the MiniJam. It is a simple Neoprene pouch with a pocket in the front and no flap- but it does have a nice webbing belt loop and a great swivel snap. I can slip the Prism in and out of it easily (although a Prism AND the MiniJam are a bit snug), it hangs from the belt in such a way that it does not get hung up in armrests or such, and it is nicely made.

Maybe I am missing something about a good Prism case. I am looking for something that holds multiple travel cards (10-11), with a pouch for little things, that doesn't scratch the screen. Oh, I also want to stay as small as possible. Used to carry a Daytimers Folio planner, waaaay to big!
