Stick it to the man!

Like scully "I want to believe".

I like the name columbia. I also must disagree with mirandu's "stock overclock" idea. There's a reason why chips are marked for a certain speed: that is the max speed that Virtually ALL of the chips will reliably run at. Not just "some" or even "most". I personally love the name 'columbia'. for me it has this lovely sort of tech/nature thing going for it. Partly cause of the space shuttle, and partly 'cause I live in British Columbia, which is mostly all Trees and mountains.

What I want from the coming visors is: cheap colour in a package smaller than the prism. I love my eyemodule2, but my VDX does not do it justice.

I can't wait to see pictures; remember how the prism showed up in yahoo magazine some time before it was ever announced?

In that case, I can't wait until I go to work tomorrow so that I can become one of the 'believers'!

well actually it is page 9

Attachment d on page 9 of the notable news letter for Tuesday august 7 ,2001. This newsletter is not faxed to stores as many of you have presumed it is received via staples intranet. I gave you all of the information that was in that newsletter concerning the new models. The newsletters are released on Tuesdays and Thursdays I will pick up yesterdays issue today and if there is any more information I will post it here. I only posted information that is included in that letter did not add any personal speculations. Hopefully it wont be long till we have all the information on these products.

I'm happy with my Prism, but it's really interesting to see all of you hopping up and down over a new model. Pretty funny.

Maybe these alleged names refer to their colors:

Ace = Red/Black
Columbia = light blue (Go Oilers!)

The above is pure speculation on my part. In the words of the great philosopher Shulz, "I know nothing!"

Makes sense. But I do agree that ususally the names that Handspring picks have something to do with what special about them or not special. Prism for example makes you think of many, many colors which is what Prism has for a display, many, many colors.

As for the Oilers comment, I echo your sentiments. however, we must not live in the past but move on. So all I can say is, Go Texans!

There are only 2 Visor colors... Ice and everything else!

Seriously, I hope that the new models (if and when they arrive) are offered in different colors. That's part of what set Handspring apart from the competition when they introduced the Visor.

Is it just a coincidence that Psion's VERY HOT concept model is also called Ace??? Imagine if Handspring's next model looked like this! (You do need to page through the article to see how clever this concept handheld device is.)

So, using that logic (which is fine, nothing wrong with it, I agree), the new visor will have something to do with one, maybe? And Columbia? What about Columbia? The entire concept of Columbia makes no sense!

Would you be able to "piggy-back" them for more computing power?

For those of you who are saying that overclocking a Motorolla CPU would require a heatsync, fan, coolant, etc . . . check out this post here. You'll have to scroll down to MPM's post. It is Engineering type information about the Motorolla CPU's and it is extremely informative. I'd advize everyone who is overclocking or concidering it to check it out.

As for these rumors about all these new visors, I've only got a thousand words to say:

or cut and paste this link: www.geocities.com/cloudfire/images/coloredge1s.jpg

its not the heat- its the humidity! i mean the reliability. temperature alone does not a stable overclock make.

if your trying to goto to the link on burns post to see his cut and paste of the new visor and it tell u the page is unaivable in geocities try this: delete the "S" after the 1 in the location box(where u type links to other websites) then press enter. it should at first look like this, http://www.geocities.com/cloudfire/...oloredge1s.jpg. the correct link looks like this, http://www.geocities.com/cloudfire/.../coloredge1.jpg

maybe im the only one with this problem but if im not i hope it helped,
robert

backup modual

well for those of us that have the 16mb upgrade and hoped someone would make a 16mb backup modual, handspring might make one . im hoping that if their next model includes 16mb memory they should also make another backup modual that will backup 16mb! Am I right?? of course i have no proof, just another speculation of what may come
