Once, a long time ago, Macrosoft was supposed to be the provider for the mapping software for the HandyGPS. When they took any reference to the HandyGPS off their website, I wrote and asked if they had ended their relationship with them. It's been a while, but in a nutshell they said that they were sick to death of Handy GPS delays, and they wanted a partnership with a more reliable outfit.

I asked to be notified when they did form a a new partnership, and I received the following e-mail recently:

Not sure how much stock to put into that since the GeoDiscovery guy was crowing at Comdex about how Magellan had just decided to switch to their software since Magellan's previously chosen software "sucked".

This might explain why the link in their e-mail to me for the "press release" doesn't seem to be working.

One wonders who it was that Geodiscovery beat out.

Could it have been Macrosoft?

Was everyone who was involved with the HandyGPS universally a screw up?

Anyhoo, I think it's kinda neat thaT Magellan might be developing a GPS springboard module.

Anyone else hear anything about it?

We saw the Magellan at Comdex and it used the MarcoSoft software:
