I saw at a local stoe rechargeables called EVERADY. As I understand they are produced by Energizer. Haw are they. What type are they NiCD or NiMh??. Are they good??

Batteries

I've been using both Eveready and Rayovac rechargeables,.....both give me the exact same performance. They last about two thirds as long an alkaline but the recharge feature is the selling point.

Just remember to change the dicharge rate indicator on your hand held from alkaline to NiCad,... even though they are NiMh batteries the current draw is very similar.

To change the rate at wich the battery indicator shows discharge can be done by:

1. Open a new memo
2. Write a lower case cursef "L" as you would normally do (Not Grafiti)
3. Tap the Grafiti area twice
4. Write the number "7" in the Grafiti number area
5. This should change the first line to NiCad
6. Close the memo pad and you should now be set

How do you change it back?

I tried what you said just to see what would happen. Is there anyway to switch it back to the alkaline setting? My battery showed 87% and now it shows 100%.

I know Eveready now makes NiMH rechargeables, but I've been using Eveready ALKALINE rechargeables now for about two years (my AA recharger also conveniently fits AAAs). Considering the fact that the batteries only cost about three times as much as non-rechargeables, but last many dozens of charges means I've gotten way more than my money's worth. It's also nice knowing I'm not tossing away spent batteries into the trash system. And believe me -- around this household we have so many gadgets we would throw away enough to fill a landfill.

I use the blue-and-gold Energizer Accu-rechargable (NiMH). They last a little less runtime than the E2 Titaniums. I hate Titaniums. They lasted 3 1/2 hours in my new MP3-CD player, when the manual says Alkalines should last 6 hrs. If you're within shipping-range from Dallas, Texas (U.S.), BG-micro has a good price ($2.50 for a set of 2) on new sealed-in-box Nicads (AA). They also sell those Panasonic Industrial Alkalines that came with some visors (basically the same price as the nicads).
