I think the flashing "NextCard" 2.9% APR ad is quite annoying, too...
But we can't ask James & Marcus to remove all annoying ads - there will be nothing left to make some money with and VC will become a pay-site... and I rather suffer a little than pay for a website (on the other hand, VC is great, so I would probably even pay some $$...)

BTW, I haven't seen our monkey for a while ... I hope nothing happened to the little chap ?!

SAVE THE MONKEY!!!

I can understand the need for VC to generate ad revenue but some of the animated ads are really annoying. With that in mind I am posting what I believe is a reasonable solution.

The latest version of Webwasher allows you to control animated gif ads. You can set it to display the first frame of an animated ad, or set it to run through the entire sequence x number of times. The setting is under Preferences|Standard Filter|Animations.

This solution will enable VC users to still see the ads and still click though if they want, yet avoid having a seizure when ads like 'Winner' are served up.
