Talking

Hi everyone, my Visor (Std) just arrived! I live in Mountain View (yes the same Moutain View as Handspring.) This shipped with Standard ($6.95) shipping, unlike the other poster from SF who ordered with Express. I made my order late on 9/14 (about 10PM.) I'll try to take some pictures of what I've got and put them up a little later.

You appear to be the second person to have managed to acquire one of these elusive little buggers.

Any "first impressions" to share?

And where are the pictures you promised?

I humbly await your informed opinion.

Thumbs up

Heres some of my impressions on day one use of my new Visor (Note that this is the first Palm/PDA type device I have owned so i cant make any comparisons to other products.)

About the case: I like the snap on/snap off case, but I imagine it will be a matter of personal preference here. I've found that it will snap on to the back of the unit while in use, so you dont need to worry about losing it (although it probably wont fit on with springboard modules that are taller than the unit when inserted.)

About the stylus holder: It feels as if the stylus squishes back into the holder, but it holds very nicely and I dont have any real complaints about it.

About the USB cradle: As explained in another earlier review of the Visor, there a little hook on the cradle itself and a indentation on the back of the Visor. You only need to slide the Visor down into the cradle for it to lock on (doesnt take much force) and lean the Visor away from the cradle to get it out. The speed of the Sync is Quite impressive too, taking only seconds to install large amounts of data.

Overall I'd say that I'm pretty impressed. Be sure to leave me any questions you might have.

Question

So why are you letting it tether you to this forum, when you obviously don't want one?!?
