They are both built-in apps (stored in ROM) and cannot be deleted. Datebook is the standard PalmOS datebook application and Datebook+ is the Handspring-enhanced version based on the commercially available DateBk.

boomeister,

To follow on MarkEagle's comments...

..if you absolutely need to _not_ see one of the date book applications, create another category/tab in your launcher and move the undesirable app there.

As Mark said, they're built-in so you cannot "delete" them.

One other option, if you prefer to use the original Datebook instead of the newer DateBook+, is to pick up the DtbkPlusStub.prc from the author's web site:

http://www.pimlicosoftware.com/handspring.htm.

The direct link to the file is at:

http://www.pimlicosoftware.com/dtbkplusstub.prc

That stub file masks out DateBook+ (read: Does not display the icon on the launcher)-- as long as the stub program is installed. In effect, in this case, you're trading one icon for another icon (the real intent of this stub is if you're running DateBk3 or DateBk4 on your Visor).

Cool

Also keep in mind that Datebook Plus cannot beam appointments to another Palm/Visor, only Datebook can do that.

This is a good reason to upgrade to Datebk 4.0

Lightbulb

I just move DateBook to the "Unfiled" category, where it sits and thinks about how naughty an app it's been alongside Expense and Welcome. :^)

Better yet, use the HideIcon hack to hide those icons. You never have to see them again!
