I was on hold to the 888 number when alas I got a customer service rep telling me that I couldn't get my ordering information unless I called 1 716 8716442. I guess the 888 line is for orders only now, and I'll have to pay a toll call to see when my Visor ships.

If they give you that line, just refer them to the statement on their web site that says that we can call toll-free "at any time" to check on our order!

Gee! I wonder why they did that?
Maybe overwelmed by people costing them major amounts of phone time calling time and again asking about orders that should not have gotten to their destination yet?
P.S. I feel sorry for those with legitimate problems (I.E. billing) that now must call long distance because of impatient folks.

What's more, they're only open from 8 to 5
central time. But I did call the 888 number after they closed and got my information (after waiting two hours)

They're giving out order info on the 888 sales line to cut people some slack and for good PR in light of the horrible experience people have had ordering.
At some point (seems maybe even now or the near future), they will restrict the 888 number to sales only. The customer and tech support lines are open 8am to 8pm EST or 5am to 5pm Pacific time. Earlier post had incorrect times.
