I've been HotSyncing from my PC for about six months with no problems. Part of my HotSyncing experience has been updating AvantGo content, which I've been able to do with no problems for about as long as I've owned the Visor itself. However, just yesterday I got in to work and tried to HotSync, and when it got around to "Autodetecting Network Settings" -- part of syncing to AvantGo -- the hotsync process locked up. I went to the Task List in Windows and stopped the process manually, and then noticed my little red/blue hotsync icon in the lower-right corner of the screen vanished. Trying to restart the HotSync program and then syncing again yielded the same problem. Moreover, when I went into the HotSync controls and told it to "do nothing" when updating the MobileLink (i.e. skip AvantGo entirely), everything worked fine. So this is definitely some kind of problem between AvantGo and my Visor. (And they'd gotten along so well together!)

Any advice (or request for more info) is appreciated. Thanks...

I had this same problem a couple of weeks ago when the Socks firewall servers at work turned up their toes for a short while. It seems that MobileLink doesn't handle certain network problems very well, choosing to hang rather than time out. You'll probably find that it'll sort itself out once your network problems are resolved.
