I've seen a site that converts the palm cradle (and the visor cradle if i remember correctly) so that you can charge rechargables in your palm (visor?) through the cradle. If i remember correctly it was a simple procedure that required a small wire attaching one of the pins on the connector to the battery connector and then hacking your cradle to supply power.

In another thread, it's been made clear that the deluxe will work in the Prism cradle. Would it be possible to convert the deluxe with this simple modification and buy a Prism cradle (or travel charger!) to charge rechargables in a Deluxe?

This way you only have to modify the Deluxe and not the cradle??

Just a thought...perhaps some of the more technical people out there can attempt this?

This old thread has the how-to info to convert the Deluxe to rechargeable NiMH's. My only concern would be charger voltage. The Prism Product Guide states that the charging pin supplies 4.75-6.20 volts and the AC adapter is rated at 5.9Vdc, 2A. I don't know if this would be acceptable for NiMH's.
