Cool

I know how to make , , and faces, but I saw someone who had a thumbs down, for example, in a post. Would you add explanations to the What is UBB Code page on how to make all of the little icons in a post's text?

Thanks!

MJH <><

P. S. It would be really cool if you had a fish icon for <>< !!!

Question

Just out of curiosity, why would you want a Fish Icon?

I'm guessing it's a WWJD thing. Okay, maybe no help...Mike's a Christian(?).

Cool

This <>< is the computer equivalent of those shiny plastic fish things you might see on the back of peoples' cars. It's like :-) for a smiley face.

BTW, that fish thing has some history; first, the five-letter Greek word for fish is "I CH TH U S" and it is an acronym for "Iesous Christos Theo Uios Soter" which means, "Jesus Christ, God's Son, Savior". When the early church was persecuted by Rome, two people shared the fish sign as a way of secretly saying, "I'm a Christian." The two people would stand face-to-face. One person would draw an arc in the dirt with his/her toe, then the other person would draw an arc, connecting one side of the two arcs together (the head) and leaving the other ends of the arcs unconnected (the tail) to make the fish shape you see on peoples' bumpers. It was a secret sign/countersign.

Now that you know more than you probably ever wanted to know about The Fish ... Yes, I am a Christian, in fact, I'm a Lutheran pastor (and I better get out and make some calls!).

Have a good one...

MJH
