Does anyone really care about new SB, anymore?

Love my Visor. Love my Springboards, but, while I once used to read eagerly about new SBs, now I simply glance at any news headings. Do people really care about SBs anymore or are we all just biding our time.

If someone were to offer an inexpensive combo RS-232 and wired etherent module, I'd snap it up in a heartbeat! It's always amazed me that with all the wow!-factor modules that have come along, the one that I think had (has) some of the greatest potential never appeared...

I use a Kyocera Smartphone now as my primary PDA, but if the bluetooth card comes down a bit, and bluetooth phones drop to around $150 - I'll give up my smartphone and switch back to my VDX.

I have a lot invested in my VDX and am just counting down the days until I can switch back to it. Once you have wireless connectivity - it's hard to go back to a life without it.

While the Treo looks cool - I like the idea of seperate packages (smaller form factors for each) and springboards are another feature that I find it hard to live without (I miss my backup card, my stowaway keyboard, the CF card adapter...)

Of course I'm interested. I still use my Prism daily and will continue
to do so until the Prism replacement is released. I don't want a
Sony or Palm because they lack the springboard port. It would
be nice to have a high resolution screen. But I will not give up my
springboards to have it.

Arrow Sad Truth

The sad truth is that most Visor users never really care about Spiingboard Modules. If they did, then Springboard modules would be selling like hotcakes, The "Springboard Econony" cannot depend on the 10000 or so members that hang out here at VC.

Smile You bet i'd still buy modules!!!

I too have a lot invested in my visor. I started with a Visor Deluxe Oct00, then upgraded to Edge Jul01 , and last month bought a refurbished Prism (my wife has the Edge now)! The reason i've stuck with HS is that i still think they have the best products on the market. They may not produce a product every other month, but what they have out IMHO covers a wide spectrum of needs for people. Give palm another 12-18 months and they may have a slew of add on products like visor, but why wait when they are already here today- if you have the extra $$$.
List of what i've invested in my visor:
Targus Keyboard
Eyemodule 1
Visorphone
Omnisky Wireless (now Earthlink)
16 meg Memory Module
Xircom SpringPort Wireless Ethernet
Handspring 33.6 modem

All i think i'm lacking is a GPS and MP3 player to complete my collection.

Keep up the good work Handspring and 3 party companies!!!!
There's still a dedicated crowd looking for great products!
Hank
