Prism. MultiMail and PPP

I am running OS 3.5.2 on a HandSpring Visor. I have a Xircom SpringPort 56 GlobalAccess modem for it. Running MultiMail as well. I am having multiple problems when dialing into an ISP:
1. PPP timouts galore. maybe connect 1 out of every 10 times though a PC works everytime at each number (2 different ISPs)

2. When I do connect, MultMail always returns a message that is can never find the POP or SMTP server even though my IM will work fine. Even when I manually enter the DNS and mail server IP addresses, it still fails. Again, these settings work fine with a PC.

Anybody else have/had these problems? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
