I figure that anybody offended with the 'hell' part must have guilty conscience. I'm a deeply committed Christian and I found it mildly amusing. My wife, who doesn't know code, thought that I would be offended by the first part(because, like Toby, I don't like people telling me what to do).

Keep it around until you come up with something you like better.

Didn't you used to be a Marine? Maybe that's where teh "used to be" comes from. (BTW, you ever serve in Okinawa?)

I was active in the Marines 1983-87. I spent my time in D.C. (8th and I) and Camp David after training. I admit I left because I didn't like someone telling me where I had to live.
My dad was in the Navy (he was a P-3 Orion Sonar operator) and he spent six months out of the year based out of the US. He was stationed in Okinawa several times.

I like this one more...any way you could make it not quite as subtle? I too got the GOTO joke (if it can be called that, I got half a snicker before I caught myself).

I can picture the scathing e-mail you'll get now:

Dear Sir:

As a zipper merchant I am insensed at your message signature, "Do files get embarrassed when they get unzipped?" Your use of the term "unzipped" clearly denotes a prurient context, and makes zippers (and by association all those who buy, sell, or use them) look like perverts. If you don't remove this slander from your messages at once, I'll sue you for defamation of character.

I mean, honestly.

Pretty please keep in mind this is not an attack, but

It's been a long time since BASIC (89-90 maybe?), but isn't the rem command just like a note at the beginning of a program, and not display shut up on the screen?

I'll say this again - looking for an education - albeit a backwards one!

*ding!* you're absolutely correct.
It should be "PRINT" not "REM"

Perhaps the 'party year(s)' didn't affect my mind like they said it would. Looking at my sentence structure from my previous post though...(My Dad, Mom, and Step Mother are all English teachers).

I love the GOTO script. It's great for making rude programs like:

1CLS
PRINT "Are you <INSERT DEROGITORY TERM HERE>? Press 1 for yes, 2 for no"
INPUT "Enter your selection.", selection%
IF selection% = 1 THEN PRINT "HAHA!" ELSE GOTO 1
