Today was on the receiving end of a beam and had no response from my Visor. Checked preferences and the "Beam Receive" is "Off" and despite clicking "On" several times,it stays "Off." I then tried a trial beam from apps and got the error message "There are no exchange libraries available."

I tried a soft reset, which didn't work, but a warm reset did. Despite the warm reset, I still have the above problem.

Now it looks like I have 2 problems...can't beam or soft reset. Suggestions?

Hard Reset

Run backup buddy first....

JakeBlues2...thanks for the suggestion but do you have any other words?

Two hard resets and BackUpBuddy restores did not fix the above problems. At the end of the restores I get a message to reset the Visor and when I do all I get is the Palm Computing Platform window and have to do a warm reset to get into the apps again.

I'll message Handspring customer service as well...this doesn't seem to be fixable.

Are you running any overclocking utility like Afterburner? These seem to really affect beaming.

If you've got a good backup, try removing the batteries for an extended period of time (maybe even a couple of hours or overnight). Replace the batteries and restore your data. This drastic step seems to help some otherwise unfixable problems.

Thanks Mark and Jake...but Handspring tech support agreed it is unfixable and replacement unit on its way. (BTW Mark, not using Afterburner. Also you may remember my previous post about BatteryMeter Hack installation errors and reset problems which started then...seems like that might be connected to current problem)
