Question

For the last three days, I have had memory problems. No, I do not forget lots of things, but my VDx seems to have some problems. First, when running AvantGo and pressing either the home or back icon at the top of the screen, the screen goes blank and then a mesage box pops up "Insufficient Memory to display Document". When I press the "OK" button, it usually works afterwards. But recently, these problems do occur more often. Now, after such a message, I had a message: "Fatal Error MemoryMgrNew.c Line: 2858, Chunk over-locked". Then the system crashed. Only a soft reset with a paperclip brought it back to life.
Has anybody experienced the same problems?
Is it just due to memory fragmentizing (?) or do I have a REAL problem, so that I have to get my Visor replaced?

As I had various different problems like crash during syncing or not syncing at all, I wonder if I have a defective machine.
BTW, I am not running any Hacks presently...

Any comments?

Unless you have an awful lot of stuff in your VDx or a huge max size for each AvantGo document, you shouldn't have a problem with memory. Given that you have had other problems and no hacks, you may well have a defective unit.
I have AvantGo installed and my largest channel is 436K; no problems using AvantGo or anything else on the VDx. (Never a HotSync problem either.)

Red face

Thanks, Tom. I guess you are right about the defective unit.
My largest channel was about 100k, and all the channels together do not exceed 450k.

I just called CS. They said they also think that my unit might be defective, so they' ll send my a replacement. Let's see if this one works better.

I would really be interested in which channels you guys have on your Visor, but I think this will better fit in the Software section. Let's start a thread there...

Anyway, I hope I' ll get the replacement soon.

Markus
