Question

I have a question about the WriteRight screen protectors for the Visor. I've been using mine for a while now, and while I love it's protection, it's getting worn.

I'm curious, however, on how to remove the Writeright. The packaging gives good directions on how to put the writeright on, but no directions on how to safely remove them. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to remove the writerights?

I just peel up one corner with the help of my PDA Panache stylus and peel it off.

Lightbulb

When I installed my WriteRights, I managed to get a bubble about 1/2 inch from the top, and I couldn't squeegee it out. I used a corner of the waxpaper backing from the WriteRight to get under a corner of it and lift it up.

By the way, how long have you had it installed, and under what usage conditions? I installed mine about a month ago and it still looks new. I'm wondering how long they last.

I manage to get a good fingernail on the sides (when I haven't bitten them off) since there's about .5 mm on the sides which to grab.

My last writeright I installed maybe november and just replaced it about 3 weeks ago. Don't listen to the 1 month crap they tell you. I'd expect at least 3 months out of each one.

You must have super-duper wrightRigts then. I replace mine monthly, and wow do they need it.

The package does say replace monthly, and from what I've seen, that seems to be accurate. You can tell that it's worn by the way the stylus doesn't glide as well, and you can see the wear on it by holding the visor at an angle.

Thanks for the tips, folks.

I've had mine in for over a month now and it still looks and feels like new (almost). I expect it to last at least another month or so. I use it everyday with the deluxe stylus and the occasional finger.

For those that are changing theirs every month, are you putting your shoulders behind it when you write or what?? Or do you use it A LOT...cause I thought I used it a lot, but maybe not.

I use the WinCE (clear) WriteRights. I bought them in January and I'm still on the first one. I wipe it down with Rain-X about once a week, and it's still in great shape.

I change mine monthly. However, when I write I don't apply any pressure at all. The weight of the stylus is enough for the visor to accept my inputs.

I do wish I could use my visor WITHOUT a protector however. The images on the display seem so much sharper when the writeRight is off.

I've had the same one on my Visor since October and I use it daily. And since I "consumed" 3 in getting it on without any dirt or bubbles underneath, I'm not in a hurry to replace it.

Just got mine from Outpost. Ordered them Fri nite at about 10pm and got them in the mail on Sat. And still almost $10 cheaper that concept kitchen's price direct. To answer your question you want the ones for the palm 3 etc, outpost item #52964. Hope that helps.

Thumbs up

I bought mine at BestBuy (southern California). They cost around $25."Palm III" size for the Visor. How long they last depends on how much the screen is written on/used. I use the buttons a lot, even my fingers, and mine last way longer that a month. A co-worker of mine faithfully replaces his every month, but says he really needs to do it, because his start to look shabby after a month.

I know that there are a lot of people that are in love with WriteRights, but I am interested in economy. I purchased 69 cents worth of 8 guage vinyl, made enough screen protectors to last a lifetime, and I have been using the same one for 5 months now, with no visible wear.

The drawback? You need to cut them yourself. Not a big issue to save several bucks monthly by not having to buy the commercial version.
