Prism slip-on cover

Is it true that the earlier Prisms came with the plastic hard slip-on screen cover and Prisms produced later did not come with a cover? Or is it the other way around?

I bought mine 10/15/01 and it came with the same black cover that my VDX has. Don't know if later models came without it...

Lightbulb Mine did not have a hard cover...

Hey,

When I received mine from handspring in March it did not have a hard plastic cover it came with the leather slip cover. What was on top of the prism was a white flimsy molded plastic cover it was just to protect the screen while shipping. This cause a problem cause there was glue residue left on the inside of the leather slip cover and it would always come off on the screen. I called handspring and told them about it and they said that the leather case was not returnable. They said that I had to pay for a new one if I wanted one. I was like "what" to make a long story short they sent me a new leather cover. The next part of the story is that I found a bright spot on the screen and got a replacement. The replacement came with the black hard cover attached.
What I recommend is to call handspring and tell them that yours did not come with the proper cover.

I got mine last April thru Dell. Same situation as VisorPrismMan. I never liked the hard cover anyway. I got a nice leather Vaja case from DirectCase.com for $40 - some still available.

Talking

Hi,

You may want to check out your local staples. They are having great close out sales on Visor accessories. I got this fold case for my visor prism for $4.00........

Thanks for all the replies. I bought two Prisms a few days ago at Staples. One came with the black hard screen cover while the other did not (just a piece of soft white plastic cover). So I was just wandering maybe Handspring was trying to save production costs by not including a cover on later Prisms since they are not doing too great financially.

The two Prisms all have Palm OS 3.5.2H1.5 but one has a darker blue color, otherwise they are similar.

My new Prism bought on the 6th from Officemax.com, came with the leather case, not the hard cover, but since I have a Neo, and have used the insurance on it, I have 3 hard covers so I can use them with the Prism.
