Question Quo Vadis maps for German Magellan GPS Module

Hello everybody,

i just bought a german magellan gps module, installed it, kind of found my position (need to change my visor because it is a AB-Modell) but don't have any good maps.

The thing is that i have the Mapcompanion from marcosoft.com, but I don't have any maps for that software. so i wanted to download it on the internet, but you can't unless you are registered (which I can't; unfortunately).

so could someone please help me and tell me where i can find the maps for Germany or even better for Baden-Wrttemberg??? (or even e-mail them to me????)

thanx so much

seb

I don't think Europe maps are included with GPS companion. Macrosoft DO have Europe maps you can buy from them.

Actually, the Europe maps and US maps are different products. As a GPS comanion user, you can use US maps only. You have to buy Europe maps by yourself. Nobody can help you. You have to pay to get the maps. I cannot help you to do that.

European Maps

Sebass,

Don't feel so bad about having to buy maps. At least you can use them. If we Americans want to visit for a week or 2 and use the usual Marcosoft Software we have to pay the same for each country and that sucks!!!!!

A better idea for you is look at the Tomtom site( http://www.palmtop.nl/palm/citymaps.html )for Citymaps. The software look better than Quo Vadis anyway.

You may want to try this software:
http://gpspilot.com/Atlas.htm
It can transfer any maps you found(Internet, paper) to maps you can use in your Visor with GPS. This is a good way if the city you want to go is not supported by other Palm GPS mapping softwares.

I think after what I've seen from the palmtop software that quo vadis is 100-times better!!!!!!!!!!!! on the marcosoft.com site you could download even detailed regional area maps which is not possible at all at the palmtop site.

are there any good gps software for the palm you could recommend me to buy/try????

Both Macrosoft(Europe maps) and GPSPilot Atlas support GPS. What kind of GPS software you need besides the map software(GPS support already included) itself???

The only detailed German maps you can buy with GPS support is from Macrosoft(I believe) if you don't want to find or scan maps by yourself. It will cost you $59. It's the most expensive country. The other countries are cheaper. You can check the following page to see if they have the city you are going.

You are luckier than I am. I am from Taiwan and there is no good maps for Asia available.

Hi Sebastian,

try GDATA's Power Route - they have detailed Maps of nearly all German cities. Costs will be around 80,-- german mark.
