I just picked some up at Fry's, spotting them by accident. I've still got two or three weeks of power left on the Duracells that are in my Visor at the moment, so it'll be a while befor I give the Titaniums a test drive.

I notice people are calling the e2 battery the titanium battery, is that written on the battery packaging? I see lithium battery, and the e2 name, but no mention of titanium. Or is that just a nickname that you guys are using?
Just asking because I normally know how to read, but for some reason I still can't see where the Titanium came from .

Yeah, I've been kind of wondering about the Energizer Titaniums... When I was visiting my folks in Ohio over the 4th of July, I went to a grocery store in our little out in the boondocks town, and found a whole display where they were selling the Titanium batteries. Now, returning to my home here in Metro Boston, Mass... I can't find the things anywhere! What gives??

Thanks for the link, now I see where the name is coming from. I think they must have changed the labeling, the e2 batteries I have don't look anything like that picture.

By the way, Dexter is the coolest cartoon character on the Cartoon network, that's a really GOOD picture of him !!!

You shrank Dexter down, eh? I think I saw Dexter do that in one of his episodes !!!

Yeah, Dexter reminds me of myself as a kid too, except I had to make my machines out of Lincoln Logs,Superballs, Lego blocks and the occasional Slinky .

PS-I notice I'm causing this thread to wander off the subject of the e2 battery, I think the reason the e2 battery is lighter is because it is a lithium type battery, lithium batteries tend to be lighter than alkalines.

Go to the Energizer e2 Titanium site. You can see the battery and read more about them in the Technology and FAQ sections. In the Features section, there is a picture of the package -- silver, with a red top section -- that the silver colored battery comes in. Both the battery and the packaging look exactly like the package that I purchased in a local grocery store two weeks ago.

Actually, I was unable to find either e2 alkalines or e2 lithium AAAs, so I just bought a pack of e2 lithium AAs to use in my various electronics at home. The packaging says that these lithiums put out 1.5 volts and can be substituted for regular AAs, so it should be OK. But thanks for the heads up, I imagine using 3 volt lithium AAAs wouldn't make my Visor very happy .

This is what I found. There is no lithium battery for AAA's. There is only Alkaline Titanium available. If anybody has found AAA's lithium is because he/she has dreamed of it.

I've been using Energizer e2 'titanium' batteries in my Visor for about a week now. One observation is that the voltage on these things fluctuates a lot more frequently than it did with my Duracell Ultras. The voltage didn't actually drop or increase in huge amounts, it just happens a *lot*. For example, in just one minute of sitting here, the voltage went from 2.50 to 2.49 to 4.48 to 2.50 to 2.49 to 2.47... etc. Or perhaps this is a problem with the hack not being able to understand the new battery... who knows, I'm out of my area on this one.

Batteries!

Does anyone know of a plan or where one could get a USB cradle that would power the Visor. It only makes since, when this thing is in the cradle, it should not run off the batteries, I could rig a few wires into the back of the battery compartment, but sure would be nice if someone made something, maybe a springboard, that would recharge the ni-cads and juice the Visor. This is my biggest peeve with the Visor. Installing new batteries every 2 weeks is really a pain. I'd like to prop the Visor up and use it has a clock, while I am at work.

Any Idea's!
