Hotsync error message

All of a sudden, I'm getting an error message during Hotsync -

"Hotsync caused an invalid page fault in module SYNC20.dll at 017f:67c29586"

The sync stops at this point - I am trying to install/add several issues of Handheld Crime and it's not working. I've even tried adding one issue at a time, but same thing happens.

For what it's worth, Hotsync has worked since I got the Vdeluxe (Jan 2000) -

I'm using Win98SE, USB cradle, Visor deluxe, Palm Desktop 3.0.1

I read in some other posts that I might try uninstalling, then reinstalling the Hotsync mgr app in Palm desktop - if this is correct way to go, how do I uninstall only this one application without uninstalling the entire desktop package?

Thanks for any and all wisdom - this is driving me nuts (and it's a short trip.....)
