Give us input on what you want us to cover at the Fall Comdex next week. We will be there Wednesday afternoon through Friday.

Well, I'll be there to ask them myself, but I think it would be nice to get some sort of official position statement from Handspring regarding the wireless modules and the lack of support of the previously existing user base.

I would like to see a chart of available and proposed wireless services. Comparing technology, value added, infrastructure providers, platforms supported, price, and recurring costs.

It's just a little too costly to make an impulsive purchase.

while this isn't TOTALLY Handspring related, i'd like to get more info on Palm's next OS which was mentioned by Markus Bregler, Chief of Palm Central Europe, in this article: http://derstandard.at/?channel=WEBS...t=PDA&ID=383770

perhaps ask Handspring if they have been working with this new OS at all...how will it differ (i doubt they'd answer that one)...and (hopefully an obvious question) will it still be able to run older PalmOS software in some sort of 'shell'?

in other words, dig and find info on this new OS!

James,

Who is "us" at Comdex and where is it possible to find you and other Visor Central folks at Comdex?

Already the matter of wireless connectivity has been noted (assumption we're taking wireless ethernet). What about Bluetooth and the Palm/Visor? How about new directions - voice recognition for example (anything coming)? What about VoIP and the Visor (the VisorPhone and Cisco's JetCell technology). How about video capabilities and the Visor/Prism/etc? What new directions in the Springboard arena --piggybacking for example. The Springboard concept needs exploration at Comdex -- particularly in light of Palm's recent notice seeking 3rd party developers and their interest in supporting such.

More later after wine and dinner. Looking forward to responses from others.

Keep up the good work.

"Us" is myself and Marcus Adolfsson. We'll be at the conference Wed-Fri and will be wearing VisorCentral polo shirts.

Pure speculation: I wouldn't be surprised if the VisorPhone ships during Comdex.

OK, I found it. It's part of the High-velocity computing conference. I've got another interesting one scheduled at that same time, so I'm really torn now about which to attend.

I'm also interested in cases. Since we will be carrying around a fairly heavy PRISM with wireless modem attached a lot of the time, it would be nice to have a gussetted, expandable case to do it with. Will VisorPhone come with a visor/phone capable case?
