Just got this from Xircom:
You recently inquired about the SpringPort Wireless Ethernet
(802.11b) module for the Handspring Visor handheld. We
want to update you on the status of this exciting new product.

The SpringPort Wireless Ethernet module turns your Visor
handheld into a high-speed wireless, all-the-time communication
tool. Access e-mail and the Web, and connect to a network
around your building or campus. Learn more by visiting
http://www.xircom.com/springport

The module will be available in early May 2001. Be one of the
first to receive this one-of-a-kind new product by placing your
advance-order online through the Shop Xircom (sm) store
beginning in April.

Watch for an e-mail from us in April with details about
advance-ordering the new SpringPort Wireless Ethernet module.

Do you think it will be that expensive! I just hope they will let me purchase it separate from their base station so I can use it with my apple airport

Have heard that the Xircom SWE is a winner. According to informed sources, in beta testing it is showing very well. Also, there will be no need to purchase a wireless hub as long as you have access to such or are a part of a wireless LAN. An Apple Airport should be fine. Just know the IP address for the hub is my guess.

Any idea if this will work on a peer-to-peer 802.11b network, with no base station?
