Can I connect my edge to my Verizon phone?
I see on www.thesupplynet.com that there is a cable that connects my phone to my edge. But when I called verizon, they were telling me I could do it with this phone (motorola 120c, bought last year) but it would be slower than a congressional debate! (14.4 kbps to be exact). In addition, it would require a whole new service plan that adds an additional $40 a month to my cell phone bill, because this type of service requires differently configured receiver towers. Yet when I read on customer reviews on the web site for thesupplynet.com, they mention a price increase of $7-$10 for their respective provider, and a super easy process.
Am I asking the right questions of Verizon? I think they believe I'm talking about wireless internet access for a laptop; I'm not. Wouldn't it just be the same as an old dial-up ISP system, excepting the variable of data transmission speed? All I want are to be able to access my email and sync my Avantgo account, that's it.
Has anyone tried this setup?
