Question Ice VDX Hotsynch problem

I am a longtime VDX owner. My VDX has worked like a champ for almost two years. I had so few problems, I stopped keeping track of visor central. Now, for some unknown reason, my hotsynch has stopped working on both my office pc, and my home pc. I run windows 98 on both machines. I have a serial cradle and outlook at work, and a USB and the original palm desktop software at home. The handheld cannot connect with either pc. I tried soft resets, hard resets, reinstalling the the conduit to outlook, and clearing the user name on the handheld. I thought about calling customer support, but I was rudely awakened to the new customer service policy of charging for service calls. (Thanks, Handspring for abandoning me. I only referred no less than six sales of units over the years.)

Any thoughts? Does handspring guarantee that if you pay for the customer service call, their instructions will work?

Try cleaning the contacts on the bottom of the Visor and on the cradles.

Maybe this trick works for you:

Push the hotsync button and when the Visor tries to connect do a soft reset.

This was the only solution for my Visor Deluxe:
