I had the same problems today with two V's. I was hoping it was not something wrong with my IR. Maybe someone could enlighten the rest of us on this.

Well, one way to test if your IR is working is to download the Omniremote demo and try it on your TV!

I assume that the users involved all knew enough to turn Beam Receive on in their Prefs.

Lightbulb

If you're using an overclocker, try disabling it. Some of them (maybe all...not sure) affect not only Hotsyncing, but beaming also...

1. disable all over or underclockers (like EcoHack, Afterburner, etc.)
2. go to General Preferences and make sure that IR Reception is on (turning it off saves pattery power; I believe default is "on" though)

For OmniRemote, you have to "train" the Visor by going to the menus and finding Training Mode, or doing a /T. Also important, you must choose INTERNAL IR in the configuration. (I initially chose External, not equating "built-in" with "internal". External is for the IR device you can buy from the makers to pump up the IR power and range.)
- as it says, tap the button to be trained.
- aim your normal remote about 2 cm from the Visor's side IR port and press.
- if you press and hold, you should hear a constant beeping.
- ** that was just a test, and you can skip it when programming other buttons, by just tapping the screen away immediately
- a second screen shows up: when you press and hold the remote button, your Visor is being trained
- as soon as you let go, the screen goes away and the button is trained.

Jim, since I assume you're Chinese, can you check out my post for the Chinese OS in this same forum? Thanx!
