VisorPhone or Digital Link?

I have a Prism with a visor phone now with T-Mobile. I also snapped up a Sprint digital link when they were free. My T-Mobile contract goes up in May and I am thinking of jumping ship to Sprint.

Has anyone used both? I have had a pretty good time with the VP. How reliable is the digital link and what kind of plan does it require?

Also, what other carriers support the visor phone? Will any GSM provider work?
