Question

A question to current palm users - Do you know if data on a Palm device can be transfered to a Visor by "hot-synching"the visor with your personal computer ?

I can't see why the Visor will not grab the data from your computer during its first feeding. It uses the same hot-sync software, right? Actually, I'm banking on this speculation. I sold my PalmV this morning and put in a order for V-Deluxe before lunch. Ice better grab all the info when it shows up......

It certainly can, that's the advantage of Visor using PalmOS. But if you have both units and a newer Palm, just use IR.

I asked about this when I ordered. Apparently they do NOT use the same desktop softwre, but a Visor WILL automatically import the Palm Desktop info when you install it. yay.

How about beaming to and from a Palm? I assume that the Visor is completely conpatible. Am I correct here?

You can certainly beam from a Palm III to a Visor Deluxe. I've been doing it all morning, trying to get my Visor setup like I had my Palm.

I have NT4 here at work which won't support USB, so I'm doing lots of beaming to install software. The problem is that it loses registration info when you beam it, so you have to have your registration codes handy.

Question

Did you get some form of preview copy or are you just special?

Given the sig, I'd say Mic is both. Being the President of the local Palm users group does have it's advantages.
