I was able to get into the chat but i left, it was horrible, it was a bunch of icons with speech bubbles which disapeared. I had hoped for regular text chat but i couldnt find a way to switch to text. I wasnt getting much out of the chat so i just left. I noticed marcus was there so maybe hell write up a few of the key points and post them here.

I was able to get a couple through, between typing the chat to James and typign my Q's, it was pretty good though it did crash me a couple times.

Arrow Transcript soon

RH had a lot of people on and will look into a text interface for future chats. The transcript will be on their website soon.

That chat was about as informative as a Handspring e-mail newsletter, but harder to look at.

If you didn't get in you didn't miss much.

Did you really think Hawkins would announce any new Visors inside the chat? While most of the information was rehashed, hearing something on the cell phone module made it worthwile. And there was good information if you read between the lines.

RH had about 300 questions with over 150 people connected, so that's why some of you didn't get your questions answered and had connection problems.

Thumbs down What a disappointment!

The Red Herring exclusive was like watching paint dry. Slow and no real interaction with the audience. Big problem was that Jeff had nothing to announce...the cell phone connection already happens in Europe (there are programs to write SMS messages and then beam them to a Nokia)...

Stuck it out until the end so as I could review it for a media programme...but it didn't do much for Handspring's image.

Sorry!

i finally got around to reading the transcript from the interview....NOTHING MUCH was talked about?!?!?!

One sentence (from Jeff Hawkins):

quote:

Jeff Hawkins: We have several companies building MP3 music players that go in the Springboard slot. I have one in my Visor today. That is unannounced.

NOT the minijam!! and it's currently working and being used by Jeff himself.

You guys really downplayed that interview...i thought it was pretty interesting reading the transcript.

My Treo 600 is my phone, my PDA, my watch, and my MP3 player. Oh yeah, I take a picture once in a while with it. Convergence is such a great thing.

Sure, I'll put that on my To-Do list for tomorrow. I'm sorta tired today after buying out Russia. Hey, that works perfectly. Russia today, Handspring tomorrow, and the Oval office on thursday. Great way to finish off Summer vacation.
