Buttons work-- but taps don't! (Edge)

I hotsynced my Visor Edge as usual and got no error messages. Now the stylus has stopped working. Tapping anywhere brings down the right-hand drop-down menu (whatever that happens to me for the page). I can still use the buttons but that's it. I tried a system reset but the problem remains. Thanks for any help. Rick

Sounds like the digitizer is way misaligned. Do a HotSync then try to do a Hard Reset. That is the only way to get to the Digitizer program in the Prefs app. Hopefully you can get it realigned. Then HotSync to get your stuff back.

Good luck

Sounds like you have the infamous Edge static glitch. Hotsync to save your data. Soft reset. This probably won't bring it back. If it does, I'd be shocked. If it doesn't, hard reset. This probably won't bring it back either. However, if you just leave it sit out of the cradle overnight (or for about 8 hours if you get this tomorrow), you'll probably find that it won't turn on (the battery's dead). Now, stick it in the cradle for two hours to let it charge. Turn it on, and the digitizer calibration should work. Set all of your hotsync settings to desktop overwrites handheld and sync. You should be back in business. If it turns out like I describe, just be careful about static electricity and it should be fine.

Smile Thanks

The power down reset did the trick. I now understand the Edge is especially prone to this kind of problem. I am very grateful for the help. Rick
