Where to buy a Xircom Springport Wireless Ethernet?

Hi,

I tried to buy one from Amazon.com (it's listed as brand new through Office Depot), and at first they charged my credit card, however, a day later they refunded me. I contacted Office Depot, and they say they're out of stock and they have been for awhile.

So, the Amazon.com site is still listing it as if there are limited quantities left! Which is untrue. So, don't order form there as their listing is not updated. The last time I checked, it said there was a quantity of "1". Even after it is ordered, it still says a quantity of "1".

What a waste of time.

Price is incorrect at Amazon.com

After talking over with Tech Depot that was selling the Springport Wireless Ethernet unit through Amazon, it seems that the price listed by Amazon is incorrect. Tech Depot's price is actually $230/- instead of Amazon's listed price of $96/-. So, both sides said that they were not responsible, so any orders made through Amazon will be rejected (not honoured) by Tech Depot.

This pissed me totally off. I went to Ebay and bought one. Hopefully, this avenue is more dependable than Amazon and Tech Depot. Sheesh....what an experience!

Never again.

Bummer about your experience. I ordered mine through amazon back in Oct, and it was processed correctly - cost $96 & shipping. Only problem was that after I ordered, I checked Tech Depot's web site and found that I could have gotten it with free shipping (they listed the $96 price then, too) - amazon doesn't provide their super saver shipping on items from certain third-party companies (Tech Depot being one of them). In any case, when I ordered mine three months ago, Tech Depot reported that they had only 45 or so left then.

Yeah, I saw the same price at Computers 4 Sure (TechDepot in disguise?) but they were out of stock. I clicked on "E-mail alert when in-stock" but I am not holding my breath.

Intel (Xircom's parent) does not even carry them at the Intel Store any more. Did they really run out that quickly, or did they just decide not to sell any more at the low price? Hmmmmm.....

The old saying is right, "You snooze, you lose!"
