OMG!

it's more than a proof of concept - think, full movies - we laredy have that, but the cameras are stationary, or jerky - now you can jsut drive a car around to film! PLUS! put it on auto take, and than sneak up to someplase withteh RC car and take a picture every second.. VERY COOL!!!

wow - I'm going to go try that tommrow morning! yeaaah! oh wait. it is morning. oh well

i thought about makeing a short silent film just using the eyemodule, but I dunno. I don't think any of my friends would see it as I do: neat, instead of a waste of time.

maybe it'll have to be stop motion legos.

Talking

Very Cool. I got to put my Eyemodule2 videos on the net. i have some movies of my riding my bike but they are a bit choppy.

A few ideas for you though:

1) Try it outside and during the day. It would be neat to drive this around in the grass with the lens just above the grass level. The view would be really neat. It just looked like the area where you were filming look like it had some low light.
2) I like the idea that miradu2000 had. Have the camera take pictures every .5 to 1 second or so and then tie them together in an animated gif.

Great videos though. I only wish I had an RC car myself.

Jason

This is how they filmed the bowling scenes in the Big Lebowski. (though not with an eyemodule...)

I've done more hazardous things to my Eye2/VDX combo, but you should try mounting one of those X10 wireless cameras with a battery pack on an RC car. I've used it to chase my dogs around the yard while remotely viewing from inside, and the expression on their faces was priceless, especially when they try to attack the car! It's like watching a shark attack video from the perspective of the seal like in the shark special I watched last night.

Any battle damage from running into those chair/table legs?
I couldn't really tell how fast it was going.

no damage. it was well shielded by tape and the car itself.
