Instead of dealing with YadaYada, I sent an email to Novatel to find out if they had any updates to the Minstrel S modem. Here is the response I received:

"New software will be tested this week. I hope to have the new software
load available next week.
Reloading of OS software - The OS software will check to see if programs are
loaded on the Visor every time the Min S is inserted. If a file has been
deleted it will reload. If the you are not deleting files, something is
wrong with your software. Notify me in a week so I can inform you of the
current availability of the new load.

Another Novatel Promise

I sent another email to Novatel's tech support asking about a firmware upgrade for the Minstrel S. Here is the response I received yesterday:

"We are close to releasing that software.
Please check our website in about two
weeks for the latest release of that software.

If you have any further questions, contact us at
1-888-888-9231.
