Moderator Question

Hey guys!
As moderators and upholders of the Treo and Visor community I am just curious as to which handhelds you all use? at one point I used to know but my mind has since been cluttered with too many other things.
Alex.

Well this should develop into an interesting thread. I currently use a Prism upgraded to 16mb plus a 16 mb memory card. Previously used a Platinum. Thinking about going to a Sony SJ 30 but the only advantage I can come up with is the hi-res screen. Probably should wait and see what develops over the next few months.

Still using my trusty 3-yr old Ice Deluxe. I've not upgraded because I have no need to... it does everything I need it to do. I considered a Treo 300 but decided against it for a variety of reasons, starting with price.

I'm in the middle of devices. Thus I am using a Sony Clie t415, Treo 180, and a Hp Jornada 567 at the same time (well rotating every few days.. data syncronation is nill - i've given up on it)

My prism broke, and my other Visors are non recharegable - a feature i require as of right now...

I'm waiting for a company to release a Tungsten T in Treo 90 form factor, but my chances of seeing that don't seem that good, so i don't know where i am going with PDA's....

The button board problem kept cropping up, and i could only resolder things so many times before the thing (and i) just gave up... However, fixitgal, my other Prism is currently in my brothers possession and hasn't had one problem... we use our devices differently i think...

yup.. but will spending $25 fix my worries? The Prism is so much bigger than all my other PDA's... I'm not sure that if i fixed it that i would use it...

There will be a PDA that will come out this year, hopefully by Handspring, that I will fall for.. at least i hope!

After using my Vdx I switched to a Diamond Mako and from there on to the Sony NR70-V...

Sounds like the Visorcentral crew has had a serious loss in faith in Handspring...oh well..hope the soon-to-be line of Handspring devices will renew the faith of the once Visor faithfuls!
FYI. I started out in the wonderful world of Handspring PDAs with a Blue Visor Neo way back in Sept. 2001 during what some would say is the height of the Visor era. I then watched the fall of the Visor, sold my Neo and got a brand new Treo 90 which I currently love and adore. My Dad has a Compaq iPaq which, while powerful, just doesn't generally run as nicely as my Treo, not too mention the screen is nowhere near as bright.
Alex.

Not all of us! I can't even remember what the last non-Handspring PDA I looked at was.

I still have faith in HS. But when I was ready for a new device and had to make a choice between a treo and the NR70V the lather won on points... it matched my needs better than the treo, but it was a very close range...
If the treo would have been a bit cheaper over here I probably would have gotten a treo...

The Mako was just a little sidestep because it was dirt cheap, but I ended up liking the litle machine and used it for a lot longer than I originally thought...

I still have my eggs in the Palm OS (5) basket, and still have faith with Handspring. Just I am in the middle right now, waiting the products i want to be released, not sastified with whats out there - I won't personally buy a PDA unless it runs OS 5 right now. I can't wait for Handsprings new communicators!

btw, i discovered a nifty program for PPC - thunderhawk. It's a web browser, that while insanely slow and horrible for reading content, can idsplay all wepages the way they were meant to be. it takes a VGA look at the page, and cuts everythign in half. Very cool - I wish somebody would do that for the new high res palm devices available now and coming out...

Hmmm..so you are all hopeful to return to Handspring eventually..well that sounds like true patriots taking sabbaticals. I just do hope that you all return to the Handspring camp when they release their next killer device. I just wish I didn't have to upgrade, but that, I believe is inevitable.
Alex.
