Visor, USB & W2K
Hi. I'm trying to find a solution to a HotSync problem. I recently started work at a new company and I'm now trying to HotSync my Visor Deluxe with an IBM machine running Windows 2K pro (build 2195).
I am running Explorer 6.0.2, Office 2000 Pro and HotSync Manager 3.1.2H.
Here's what happens:
When I try and HotSync, a Handspring USB device appears in my Device Manager, with a little yellow exclamation mark beside it, telling me that This device is not working properly because "Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device."
When I try to update the driver, I eventually get a message saying that the device is now installed, but may not work correctly, since "This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed."
Windows tells me that the driver file being used is VisorUsb.sys (version 1.0.0, size 19.5, modified 12/11/2001).
Again I try to upgrade the driver, this time I am told that a suitable driver is already installed, but that I have the option reinstalling from oem1.inf, which I do.
After restarting, I get a Handspring USB device appears in my Device Manager, with a little yellow exclamation mark beside it, but cannot HotSync. When the Visor eventually times out, the Handspring USB device disappears from my Device Manager. This is current state of affairs.
Can anybody help? Please???
