Question

Has anyone come up with a rechargable battery pack for the VDX? You can't use the cradle but rather than have to takeout and recharge the batteries in a separate unit, what about a simple replacement pack with plugin transformer?

Question A little more info please.

Thanks to both of you for the info:

How do you campare the two units? The FullCharge unit claims to charge while operating the VDX which would be very usefull using a GPS Module in the car. Does the ICU Digital charger also allow for that option. In both the 2 pin clip seems a weak connection. How have they held up in use?

Talking Love my Full charge

No problems with the prongs on the FullCharge for me. I plug it in several times per week, and the prongs have held up fine. I even use it while plugged in, and I can watch the battery meter keep creeping up. It is the best accessory I have ever gotten for my VDX. Save the land fills! By a Full Charge.

Thumbs up

Use the fullcharge system. It's awesome. I've been using for 4 months now and it works flawlessly. A lot people ***** about the install but if you follow the directions and take your time, it works. Once it's installed you never take it out... so why *****?

But it, it's worth the money!!

Question

Has anyone bought and used the battery charger from Ocean Battery? If so, could you give us a small review of this product. I am interested in buying this for my Handspring Visor Deluxe. If you are interested i this product, you can go to their website at www.oceanbattery.com.

I use a Full Charge and like it except that I like to cycle my NiMH batteries to a deeper discharge than a couple days use before I recharge them, and the charging time is pretty slow.

The Ocean Battery looks like it protrudes from the battery cover to accomadate the plug. Does the ICU have a bump on the battery cover as well? The Ocean Battery claims to charge in 1 hour, which would be pretty nice. How long does the ICU charger take to charge a mostly discharged battery?

Smile

I use the ICU charger in my Vpl. No problems and I have used the charger while surfing the net with my Minstrel.

The Ocean battery appears to be an OEM of the ICU. Everything is exactly the same about it, so I woudlnt' be surprised if it was.

The Battery cover is completly smooth, and you clip on a thing to charge. The battery cover has NO bumps.

Look for a review of the ICU charger in the next week. (hopefully tommorow!)

P.S. I LOVE THE ICU! IT'S EXPANDABLE!
