Beaming Calendar Event to Nokia 8290

I recently purchased a Nokia 8290 and have been beaming contacts and calendar events to the phone from my Visor Deluxe via the infrared connection.

I haven't had any problems beaming contacts, but I have had inconsistent results beaming calendar events. Some calendar events (timed appointments) beam over just fine. Others, however, go through the moves of being beamed, but the phone is not receiving the data.

The difference in the indication given by the Visor is that if the phone receives the data, the Visor puts up a notice indicating "Sending" and then one indicating "Disconnecting." If the phone does NOT receive the data, the Visor indicates "Sending" but never puts up the "Disconnecting" message.

I have tested this numerous times and can find no difference between the appointments that will transfer and the ones that won't, except the following: I verified that some events syched from Outlook beam, some do not. I seem to have no trouble, however, with any event that I create on the Visor itself, but even duplicates of the troublesome events will not beam, despite being created on the Visor.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Can you give me any input on how to remedy it?
