At AOL Keyword "PDA" you can download the AOL Mail for PDAs. There is also a lot of other related PDA information there as well, including software for downloading.

Here is another site, highly recommended for AOL users, AOL & YOUR PALM PILOT, that has simple step by step instructions on how to set up the AOL mail for a PDA. URL is http://members.aol.com/hostcompdany/

You might also want to subscribe to Susan Gustafson's weekly POCKET PRESS, a weekly free newsletter for PDA users. Each issue of Pocket Press brings you information about software, hardware, reviews, hints and tips for getting the most out of your PDA or palmtop. I have subscribed for about a month now and it seems to be worthwhile reading.

If interested in receiving this POCKET PRESS e-mail [email protected] with "Subscribe" as the subject, or on AOL, just visit the PDA Community (Keyword: PDA) and open the "Subscribe to Pocket Press" item in the list box.

Hopefully AOL will soon complete the work to allow PDA users access to Internet sites.

Cool

The Thincom modem and AOL mail work perfectly. Simple and easy to set up both the Thincom and download AOL Mail for the Visor and sign on the first time. AOL mail works exactly like it does on your computer now, the only difference is that it's on the Visor instead. No HotSync, no cradle involved, other than initially to install the AOL Mail software on the Visor.

The mail that you read and/or send on the Visor can be saved in the file cabinet exactly the same as on your computer now. The file cabinet can be accessed from both the Visor (offline) and your computer. Also all mail you send or receive and read on the Visor is also stored in your computer mailbox automatically.

AOL Mail on the Visor can be set up so that everything is automatic. As soon as you're signed on all incoming mail is downloaded to the Visor and all mail waiting to be sent that you previously wrote, is sent. Then you signed off.

Which is what you want to do to save that Visor battery. I have a 2 day old set of the new Energizer Titanium batteries. It scares you how fast that battery icon goes down. It does come back up -- slowly over time.

No one is going to be Internet surfing without buying a case of batteries first. But I am fixen to try it anyway as soon as I download and set up FreeWWWeb.com

Thincom, Visor & AOL Mail work perfectly.

ok, I'm a bonehead. How does the Thincom modem work? Do you have to plug it in to a land phone line, or is it cellular?
