memplug vs. backup module

I recently received a memplug with compact flash and a handspring backup module. Are both necessary? The memplug says is will do backups but is it as foolproof and complete as the backup module?

BTW, purchased my Edge 3 wks ago at BB for 149 and love it, moved up from a M105.

They are the same for backups

Hey,

They are the same except that you cannot use the backup module to store individual files. The memplug allows you to add programs to the module and even run them off of the module. This actually increases the memory on your visor. There are many threads regarding which memory is best etc and how to get the most out of it so search...

If you need to do a hard reset, you can't beat the Backup Module. It puts everything back on your visor exactly like it was. It rescued me a couple of times.
