Question

Just wondering what kinds of things the visor is being used for out there. Aside from the obvious address book, calender, etc. Anyone doing anything creative/unusual with there visors. I saw one guy said that he is a teacher and using it as his gradebook. what else...?

I am using it as my time sheet (in addition to the other features)- with a running clock and everything. It helps me keep track of my billable hours and what projects I worked on, etc.

If you download OmniRemote 1.15b you can use your Visor as a universal remote control. I'm told it works well over short distances.

Eug (who needs at least 3 remotes to work his home theatre system properly)

As well as the conventional, I'm going to use it during a conference I run each summer - I'll have every student and instructor's full information in a database on me at all times (JFile or Handdbase), as well as a full schedule. So when I deal with people etc. I can look up any relevant information (classes they are registered for, phone number etc.) on the spot.

Also, I'm a writer, so I'm planning to release a couple of stories in doc format from my collection when it is published as a sort of teaser people can read on their pilots (if I can persuade the publisher...)

I own a swimming pool service with 600 weekly accounts. I'm having a custom data collection application written that will record our daily readings on a Visor. This will then sync with an Access database at the office. This will help me out a lot in the area of employee management and improve the quality of my service by allowing me to more easily track how my employees are treating their pools.

Use it to measure heights of buildings by dropping it over the edge and timing how long it takes to hit the ground

Nutt, if you're going to use your Visor to measure the height of buildings, I suggest you use it as a pendulum from the top and bottom of the building. If you drop it off the building, you might have a hard time finding all the pieces to send back to Handspring for the overnight replacement.
