Question

Does anyone know if:

The Visor has the PalmV/PalmIIIx screen?
and
Will the 'plug in' accessories for the PalmIII range be compatible? i.e, modem/hotsync cables

General comment - This device looks just about perfect!

Handspring is using a screen that came from 3Com so it should be the same Epson screen of the Palm IIIx and Palm V.

I doubt the clip on accessories for the Visor will work since it's a USB device, not a serial device and many of the clip on accessories are serial.

I may be wrong about that though, I guess we'll see.

I checked with Tech support on the hardware compatability of the Visor with the Palm devices. There is none.

Along with the porting being different, (USB Vs Serial), the pin structure is different, (2 less on the visor) and the general shape of the visor is configured differently so that is will not fit into any of the palm peripherals. This is a feature to ensure that you don't plug into anything that might fry your visor.

see ya

One quick note... the IIIx does NOT have the same screen as the V.

The IIIx screen isn't as good as the one on the Visor/Palm V. The Visor screen is slightly smaller (pixels are packed together tighter) with better contrast.
