Question about Backup Buddy

I have a quick question about Backup Buddy. I am having a problem with some software I installed (see the post about Streetfinder error). I was wondering if I can delete all the files (hard reset) and manually reinstall all the software by clicking on it in the Backup directory. Would this alter any settings or cause any problems? I want to see if I can reinstall everything manually and still have Streetfinder work.

Has anyone tried something like that before? What is the process? I assume I have to indentify myself as the owner of the Visor, but how do I get it to stop from restoring my files, and instead installing them manually.

Chris

It should be possible to manually restore if you just copy your backup directory to another folder and then delete everything in the original backup. You can then restore one-by-one from the second file. I had to do something similar when I had a program causing a lock-up but couldn't identify which one. I reinstalled in batches until I found what was causing the crash.
