Will we ever see a solar powered battery/unit?

I wish someone would develop a little module that would charge the battery using solar power (for the Prism, Edge, and future Visors). The little module would have a row of solar cells like those found in solar powered calculators. The module would fit at the base of the Visor since the Prism & the Edge already use the bottom contacts to charge the internal battery.

Is this feasible? It'll be slow charging, but it could be really handy especially when travelling.

Solar, but not Springboard

Here's my email from www.plastecs.com. (Sorry, start at the bottom and read replies going up.) It's not a Springboard, but it claims it will charge a Prism or Platinum battery.

Hi,
As it turns out, I have a plug for the Handspring Prism at this time.
regards,
Wil

Wil,
Thanks for the prompt response. I have a Visor Deluxe, have not
sprung for the Prism yet. Having a mobile charger not bound by
electricity would be great. Have not tried to splice either, but very interested in your progress.

Hi,
If you have the travel charger kit for the Prism, you can get my
modification kit wherein you can splice into that line and attach
connectors to each end and with the UNIDAPTER enclosed---you can then charge either ac or Solar. The kit is $7.95. It fits the CF101A. Let me know if you are
interested.
Regards,
Wil

I have a Handspring Visor Deluxe. Is there any plans to make the solar charger available for this PDA? [CF101 $29.95 and CF101A $39.95] I would love to use it when I travel. Thanks,
