Cool

It would appear that Handspring has solved at least *some* of their delivery problems, as I received my Blue Visor Deluxe yesterday after only a week of waiting! Many apologies to those of you who are still waiting for yours after many months of frustration.

A few technical notes regarding my installation/setup experience. I had hoped that my laptop (a new Dell Latitude) would be able to synch with the Visor via USB, even though it was running Win95 WITH USB SUPPORT.

According to Microsoft, this special release of Win95 is supposed to add full USB support, but I was unable to make either the Visor, or a brand new Rio 500 mp3 player work with my laptop until I upgraded to Win98. So beware of attempting this workaround, as it simply DID NOT work for me, at least not on this laptop.

Now for a question, has anyone had any experience using Lotus EasySync 3.0 which is supposed to synch up PalmOS devices with Lotus Notes clients? I am using Notes 4.6 at work and would love to have my new Visor be able to work with it.

Many thanks to the fine users, moderators and administrators of visorcentral.com, this site was a major influence on my decision to buy a Visor, despite the many negatives that I have heard/read about. Kudos to all!

Yes, Win95's USB support is incomplete. I think Iomega Zip drives may also be a problem.

Cool

I am using Easysync 3.0a to sync my Lotus Notes calendar with my VDX. I do not know if Easysync 3.0 works or not.

I have not tried to sync anything else from Notes to my VDX.

I did have a problem where Easysync complained that there was an API error with one of my calendar entries. It was a repeating meeting that had been changed several times. I deleted the offending meeting and was then able to sync.

I have used EasySync w/ Notes r4.x and R5. I strongly suggest that you look at Intellisync (www.pumatech.com) which has FAR, FAR, FAR better conflict resolution that Lotus's product and is much more configurable.

Using Lotus's product is an open invitation to duplicate records at every turn.

Unfortunately, Puma thought it was more important to provide Novell Groupwise support than Notes R5 support, but that shouldn't hold you back.
