Anyone heard of a possible serial cable being made? I know there is nothing on Handspring's site about it, but I could REALLY use one.

Me too. Btw, Does anyone have any info on how to make one?? Is it possible to take USB cable and turn into serial cable by change the USB end with serial?? Any info is appreciated.

I've been looking for a Serial-to-USB converter for the past couple of weeks. I work for a computer company and have been through all of the catalogs....nothing to be found. Plenty of cables to make your USB port a serial port though. Couldn't find any info on making one either.

I know I'm not alone in wishing that I had a way to connect a serial synch cable to my Visor. In addition, I would really like a way to connect my Visor to the many peripherals designed for the Palm serial port (since none of them have been redsigned for the Visor USB connector).

I think the ideal way to do this would be for Handspring to develop a "Palm Serial Connector" Springboard. It might stick out a bit from the top of the Visor, but it would allow users to connect Palm modems, GPS devices, serial cables, and any of the other devices made for Palm devices. All it would need to do is emulate the serial connector of the regular Palm Pilot.

Gee, give them an option to charge us more than they need to. The cable would be $20....a springboard module? Who knows. It's a nice thought, but I'd would've stuck with asking for a cable.

i think a serial port spring board would be easier to produce than individual data cables for all the different types of cell phones that are on the market. i'm sure some people already have data cables for their cells and really dont want to have to go out and buy another cable if they really didn't have to.
