MP3 Course 101

I need some help in MP3 player education. I am looking to buy the Minijam to use with my Prism but don't know diddly squat about mp3 technology.

Two questions come to mind. First, how much music can I put on a 32mb card?

Second, how do I get MP3 music or can I record music from my audio cds onto the MMC card?

Any other tid-bits of advice would be appreciated.

As a rule of thumb, figure 1 Mb per minute of audio for a high quality MP3. The quality is determined by the encoding bit rate. The higher the rate, the better the audio quality of the MP3.

You can create your own MP3's from CDs through a process called ripping. Programs that do this can be found on the net, sometimes for free. The last I knew, WinAmp was the big one for Windows boxes. For Apple, iTunes is probably your best choice.

I don't know too much about getting them onto MMC cards, but I seem to recall a discussion here on VC that indicated the MiniJam had it's own format for the MMC cards, so you'll have to use whatever program InnoGear supplies.

Why dont you just go and read VC's very detailed Review of the MiniJam...

it answers 2/3 of your questions already

Cheers.
