Well, I finally had to do it this afternoon. After a few smooth months with only a few soft resets, I got the flashing Palm logo and had to do the pull-the-batteries and wait routine. I had just synced, so all is not lost, however, a lot of my programs did not return when I did my sync again.
I got back, as I expected, all my address & schedule data. The most important third party app data I have is Strip (the password keeper). I didn't get the application back after the Hotsync, but when I go into Applications\info, I see 3 Strip files: Strip Accounts-SJLO 3k, Strip Passwords-SJLO 1k, & Strip Systems-SJLO 1k. So this looks like my data, but can I just reinstall the app and have my info back? This almost seems too easy, so I'm asking for tips before I try it and make things worse! I'm concerned that reinstalling the app will overwrite the data I have (had) with new empty databases.
Likewise, I have no eyemodule app on the Visor now, but there are some eyemodule DB's on there, as are my mobileDB's.
Any advice? I'm looking for step 1 (resoring my passwords for strip). Step 2 is get backupbuddy, Step 3 is maybe get the backup module, and step 4 is don't play with beta software until steps 2 and 3 are completed!
